Has Anton moved pitches, or has he always been plotted up in the Stile pitch?
Just watched the weather forecast and they are still saying -1 for the Ross area tonight, increasing to about +4 or 5 tomorrow during the day. You will also get any sun over in the west if it comes out, about midday they reckon. The windchill from the cold north easterly has made temps feel more like -5 in some areas of the east midlands. North to north easterl forecast all week I am afraid SK, weakening slowly during the week from 14mph tomorrow down to about 10 mph by Friday.
Keep nice and warm tonight fella, it's easier to cool down than it is to warm up, so get the cover on your bedchair for tonight. Tight lines. _________________ It is better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. |

Well I had a really good nights sleep if nothing else, having half the zip down made a difference and the wind dropped right off.
My ears are getting fine tuned now, in the distance there are cows, a train and I picked out a few planes overhead.
We've all heard about the ghostly apparitions this place is famous for, but a JCB coming down the track last night lit up like a christmas tree playing "Simply the best", now that's just plain wierd.
Really enjoying my time here lads, thanks for sharing it with me.
Ps. Anton moved into style yesterday. _________________ Look Ye Also While Life Lasts. |

Quite a chilly morning, 3 degrees but better than yesterday, the wind has dropped and blue skies are trying to poke through.
Very quiet last night, no touches for anyone. Going up the shallows shortly for a looksy.
Just nipped into Ross to get a hot water bottle for my feet and a car charger for my blacberry so I can keep this going.
Looks a perfect day for a spot of stalking, Yates stlylee!!! _________________ Look Ye Also While Life Lasts. |

Well I popped up to have a look in the shallows and saw some discoloured water just off the last island half way out. I climbed the tree and saw a few small patches of bubbles. That's was enough for me!! Just as I was climbing back down a dark shape glided through the spot.
I'm back now, 2 criticals with 4 bait stringers either side of the spot. Sat back, it's like a millpond down this end and the sun is shining on Redmire Pool. _________________ Look Ye Also While Life Lasts. |

Surely, you should be fishing two grains of sweetcorn under a small quill!
As Nick says, the active time, especially in the shallows, is mid afternoon (even in the summer). Sit quietly and you will probably get some more heart-stopping dark shapes moving in. _________________ The pleasant'st angling is to see the fish

I sat there for most of the day quite content with the breif sunny spells, the squirrel and the spoy Yates had the Bishop opposite but alas, no bits came my way, quite fancy another go up there tomorrow though.
Bback in my swim now and time for a late lunch and a couple of mugs of tea.
The rods are back on their spots with no freebies this evening and I've had a few liners already.
The sky still has blue sections but it's chilly, the wind seenms to have swung a bit and is now blowing down the pool.
We had hail earlier and reports ae it could get down to minus 3, gonna get that cover out tonight and the hot water bottle.
Roughly half way though the trip now and I've lkoved everyminute, been keeping a diary of events for a report and taken some nice pictures. _________________ Look Ye Also While Life Lasts. |

Yes Sk, thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I am hoping to get a blackberry for my trip to the pool later this year.
Being a complete techno twit, is there anything I need to know?
Do I just log on to forum on blackberry at the pool just as I would my computer at home? Can I take photos on a blackberry and post them whilst I'm there??

Cheers nick, I hope so to, not to sound greedy.
Yes Tony, just log on as you would at home. To post pics I suppose you need to also log onto an image hosting site like photobucket.
Getting rather cold now, all wrapped up and my cover is fitted.
Beutiful sky this evening, the sunset is qhite spectacular.
Also, a pair of Jays just flew by. Time for another mug of tea. _________________ Look Ye Also While Life Lasts. |

| Yes, good blog sk! To send photos is easy. You can text them to photobucket, then a link is sent to you, which you then post on the forum. Rich. |

There is a clear sky this evening and the reflection of the stars gently dapples on the surface of the pool. Once again it's just the shapes of the trees I can make out in the blackness.
The swans have retired to their night time pitch and the Jackdaws are in full voice.
I can see my breath now, temperature feels like it.s starting to drop now. _________________ Look Ye Also While Life Lasts. |
