It is with great sadness that I have to announce the Red Lion at Peterstow has now closed. Aaron and Leanne were the landlords, and they did a great pint of ale, and some wonderful food. Unfortunately modern times have caught up with them and they have had to close the pub.
However, we have since found that we can make a happy return to our spiritual home, the New Inn at St Owen's Cross. Now under new management, the pub is back to what it used to be before we switched allegiances. Mike and his son Dale will welcome you with some splendid ales, including Wychwood Hobgoblin on the hand pump, my chosen tipple should any of you ever run across me in situ. There are several other good ales available, and some wonderful food to boot.
So one door closes, and another one opens. Les and I look forward to many many happy nights supping good beer in the New Inn.
If you are looking for any excuse to rest you're swim whilst plotted up on the Mire, then pop in the New Inn and have a bite to eat and a proper pint of beer.
And no, we are not on any commission _________________ It is better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. |
